About Poppy Seed Baby
Hi there, welcome!
I launched this blog in January 2011, just a few short months after the birth of my beautiful daughter Poppy Ava.
I had already been posting over at my food blog for three years so I was pretty used to juggling ‘real’ life and blogging.
Until I got pregnant, that is. And then my brain kind of flew out the window. If you have ever been pregnant then you will know exactly what I am talking about.
I want to be completely upfront about this blog from the beginning; it would be nice to actually earn an income from it while I’m on maternity leave. To that end, I will be writing about commercial products which earn me a small commission if you click through and buy them.
I’ll also run advertisements and accept products to review (and hopefully giveaway to you!). So if you’re a PR or business owner then please do get in touch.
It’s embarrassing, but I’ve always fancied the term Mumpreneur, however I can really only start calling myself that once I’ve made some money! Don’t you think?
You might be wondering why I called the blog Poppy Seed Baby. Well, that’s an easy answer. When we found out that I was pregnant I read in a book that my tiny baby was as big as a poppy seed. As an avid foodie, this really appealed to me and the name stuck.
If you’re interested in following my journey into the big, unknown world of motherhood then join my newsletter (the sign up box is just up there in the right hand corner) and subscribe to my RSS feed to get all the goss. If social media is more your thing, then consider following my updates on Twitter or Facebook.
